The Board has four main areas of activity, which are outlined below.
Regulation
The Regulation unit's priorities include:
- carrying out investigations into the state and conduct of schemes
- auditing documentation which schemes are required to produce
- ensuring compliance with the funding standard in the case of defined benefit schemes
- approving PRSA products jointly with the Revenue Commissioners.
Information
The Information unit are responsible for:
- the provision of the Board’s information
- guidance
- enquiry services.
Policy, Legal and Actuarial Services
The Policy, Legal and Actuarial Services unit deal with:
- technical
- legal
- actuarial
- policy-related matters arising within the Board’s overall remit.
Corporate Services
Corporate Services have responsibility for:
- secretariat to the Board
- financial control
- human resources
- information technology
- office facilities
- fee collection.
